McKenzie Towne Homes for Sale
First, the thing search engines confuse: McKenzie Towne and McKenzie Lake are two different communities with different prices and different amenities. This page is McKenzie Towne — High Street, the village plan, and mature resale.
They are separate communities that share a name and a quadrant. McKenzie Towne is the New Urbanist village — High Street’s walkable retail strip, front porches, narrow lots, and three distinct villages (Prestwick, Inverness, Elgin) — with no lake. McKenzie Lake is the older lake community to the north with deeded lake access and larger lots, and it prices accordingly. Buyers searching one and touring the other is the most common mix-up in this pocket of the SE.

Does McKenzie Towne have a lake?
No lake in McKenzie Towne. No — that is McKenzie LAKE, a separate community immediately north with deeded lake access. McKenzie Towne’s amenity is High Street: a genuinely walkable retail main street, rare in suburban Calgary.
Schools
- McKenzie Towne School (public, elementary)
- St. Albert the Great School (Catholic)
- Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School (public, in Seton)
School designations change as communities grow — always verify a specific address with the CBE and CCSD before you write an offer. I do this as part of every family search.
The commute, honestly
Downtown is 25–35 minutes in peak traffic — closer in than the newest SE communities, which is a real part of the value here.
Who McKenzie Towne fits — and who it doesn’t
Buyers who want walkability and mature landscaping over new construction, and anyone who values a shorter commute than the SE edge. If you want a big lot, this is not that community — the village plan is dense by design.
The full deep-dive — pricing by home type, the trade-offs nobody puts in a brochure — is in my McKenzie Towne community guide. Deciding between communities? McKenzie Lake · New Brighton.

What did homes here actually sell for?
Sold prices aren’t public in Alberta — but as a registered client you can search real sold history through my sold-price portal, free. Or ask me for the numbers on a specific home and I’ll pull them for you.
