Property Takes

What I would pay for listed Calgary homes, and why

Each Take is my read on one listed home: the number I would pay, the reasoning and the risks, published before anyone knows how it ends. The read is never edited afterwards. Corrections and the outcome are added underneath, right or wrong.

How Property Takes work

  1. I pick a listed home and write down what I would pay for it, why, and what could make me wrong. It is dated the day it goes out.
  2. The published read is locked. A hash of its text is kept in the public dataset, and a check fails the site's build if a word or a number changes.
  3. Mistakes are corrected underneath the read, with the date, never inside it.
  4. When the home sells, the outcome is added: right, wrong or mixed. When it leaves the market unsold, the page says so.
