How to interpret these numbers
The regional contrast

In October 2026, Okotoks had 3.04 months of supply, compared with 5.94 in Chestermere. The same reporting month can describe different buying and selling conditions. Supply alone does not forecast a home’s price.

All five cards use the same reporting month. A monthly report is different from a daily sale-price feed. Verify with CREB® ↗

The place behind the price

Check your neighbourhood

Crime, schools, costs and the everyday details.

Explore official CPS crime data

Crime and disorder figures open on CPS’s external dashboard. No CPS counts are displayed on this page.

In CPS, choose Crime by Community or Find A Community, then set your community, period and category. If the report does not open, try the official CPS data page.

What the crime data can tell you

CPS publishes monthly dashboard updates. Check the report’s displayed update date and selected year; they are different from this Digest’s source-check time. Compare the same period and category across communities. Reported incidents are not a prediction of personal safety.

The dashboard omits some serious offences and community-level domestic data. Disorder calls are separate from crimes. Neighbourhood incident counts are different from the citywide Crime Severity Index. Population rates use CPS’s stated population base; busy destinations attract visitors as well as residents.

The retired open-data feed ends in 2024. Use the current official explorer for the latest available figures and coverage. CPS methods, reporting limits & data download ↗

Sources, methods & corrections

The editorial standard

Your daily research desk. Sources you can trace.

Published by Mohammad Emon, REALTOR® (SRES®), KO Realty. Source checks and story selection are automated. The reading notes explain what to check for your own move; they are not a claim that Mohammad personally reviewed every release or a prediction about a particular home.

Official sources are labelled separately from news reporting. Every story links to its original publisher and carries that publisher’s publication or update date. Social posts and Reddit discussions are leads for further investigation; they are not published here as verified market facts. This is a defined source network, not complete coverage of the internet.

We favour local relevance, housing relevance and recency, remove duplicate links and headlines, cap each publisher at four stories and show up to 24 stories from the past 30 days. A topic may have no new story on a quiet day. Source-check time, article dates and the monthly CREB® reporting period mean different things.

If a source fails, retained eligible stories keep their dates and a retained label. A complete source outage preserves the last successful edition. Verify current program eligibility, rules and mortgage terms with the original source and relevant professional.
